Easter Recipes

Easter is a holiday spent with friends and family to celebrate spring and new life. People usually go out to other people’s houses for Easter, to a park, or a festival to celebrate. The food served at Easter is the sort of food that is simple to make. Most of the food served can be considered picnic food because of how easy it is to make.

Chicken Pasta Salad

The chicken pasta salad is a creamy dish. The chicken and eggs complement each other well by adding a sort of salty flavor to the sweetness of the cream. To start people could buy a chicken premade and cut it up into pieces and put it in a pan to cook with tomato sauce. Or cook a chicken breast until it is no longer pink and then follow the rest of the steps. Inalbys Holkon, the “creator” of this dish puts tomato sauce in her pasta salad to add a savory taste to the pasta. While the chicken is cooking, boil a pot of hot water and place macaroni into it until soft. In a separate pot boil water and hard-boil a couple of eggs. After all the main ingredients are done place them in a large bowl and mix them with mayonnaise, garlic salt, pepper, and lemon. Once the mixing is done put it in the fridge overnight so the salad can get cold. After this dish cools down it is ready to be shared at a picnic table with loved ones.

Devilled Eggs

Want to eat something that reminds people that it is Easter, make devilled eggs. It is a classic appetizer to eat on Easter and is very creamy and tangy. Get a pot, fill it with water and boil it to put eggs inside. After 15 minutes of the pots being covered, the eggs should be peeled off their hard shell. Cut the eggs in half and remove the yolk, mash the yolk until they are smooth. In a bowl stir the yolk, mayonnaise, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the mixture in a piping bag and fill the hole of the egg white with the yolk mixture. Later, garnish the eggs with chives and a pinch of paprika. To add a fun element to devilled eggs Lulu Laurenti recommends people to dye their eggs. In a cup place half a cup of water, 10 drops of food coloring, and one tablespoon of vinegar. The longer the eggs are in the dye the more vibrant the egg.

Spinach Pie

Instead of eggs people could eat some vegetables with a sweet puffy taste. To start thaw out spinach or get fresh spinach and dice them up into pieces. While the spinach thaws roll out the puff pastry and preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Next, dice a white onion and mix it with minced garlic and olive oil in a pan to cook quickly. In a separate bowl mix cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, nutmeg, salt, pepper, and two eggs. Then use a third egg to brush the yolk on the puff pastry before adding it to the oven. After the spinach is done being thawed in the cheese mixture add the spinach and the onion, garlic mixture. Roll out the puff pastry and place it in a pie tin. Place the spinach mixture into the tin after the puff pastry and put it into the oven for 45 minutes. Once it has been done people can enjoy savory veggie pie.

Feta stuffed avocados

Want to make something quick and easy, people can try making stuffed avocados. All people need is some feta, avocado, lime, green onions, red pepper, and olives. Stuffed avocados are creamy and savory appetizers people can enjoy at home or at the park. First the avocado will be cut in half and stuffed with diced feta, olives, green onions, red peppers, and olives. Drizzle lime onto the avocado before stuffing it, so the avocado does not brown over. Not only will this dish have the creamy flavor of avocado, but the salt and savory of feta cheese.

Whether Easter with friends or with family, people can use these recipes to make Easter just a little more fun.
